 In Spit Masks

Dusseldorf Germany:

More than 900 police officers were spit during operations in NRW last year.

The spitting attacks against the officials are not only disgusting, but also dangerous to health. Minister of the Interior Herbert Reul (CDU) has therefore today decided that the police in North Rhine-Westphalia will be equipped with spittoons nationwide in the coming year, which can be pulled over by aggressive offenders in order to calm them down. Reul takes up a demand from the Union of Police (GdP), which has long been calling for the police to be better protected against spit attacks.
